Faithful First | Can you be faithful to you?? 👀
We talk about faithfulness a lot.
Usually in the context of relationships.
Marriage. Loyalty. Commitment.
But here’s the question we rarely ask:
Can you be faithful to yourself?
When I hear the word faithful, my mind used to jump straight to romantic relationships. But lately, I’ve been sitting with something that I believe is deeper: faithfulness begins inward.
Before I can be faithful to my partner…
Before I can be faithful to my calling…
Before I or as I even walk out in faith with God…
I have to ask myself:
Do I trust me?
The dictionary says faithful means loyal and steadfast. And when you break the word down, it’s faith + full, meaning full of faith.
So the real question becomes:
Am I full of faith… in myself?
Because if I don’t trust myself to do what I say I’m going to do, then faithfulness everywhere else becomes shaky. Not impossible, but strained.
This week, I’m sitting with this question:
How am I doing with being faithful to me?
Not perfect. Not defensive. Just honest.
And I’m inviting you to sit with it too.
